Transport workers are protesting across the country, including the capital, for 8-point demand including amendment of certain sections of the Road Transport Act, 2012 passed in Parliament. Since morning, some private transport, CNG operators and other options are being run, but they are not allowed to continue as soon as they grow. The students of the workplace and school-college students have suffered severe suffering. They are going to go to the destination.

Transportation strike began on Sunday (October 28th) from 6am. The long-distance bus service is closed in this strike. Road communication between Dhaka and Dhaka has been closed. On this side, all the areas of the capital also have full public transport zero. In the morning buses of different areas of the Dhaka area were seen in the crowd of office-going people and school students.

Office Afsana Ria Haq said, leaving the office for the strike, I went out for the morning. But I walked around one and a half hour. After a few days of such suffering there really is no meaning. All owners of the transport owners should sit down with the government. Thus, it does not make sense to suffer ordinary people like us!

The scene of such suffering in different areas of the capital has been observed since morning. Many times the transport strike called for a relief to escape from the problem of the suffering grinders the capitalist.

It is to be mentioned that on Saturday (October 27th), the Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation President, Wajiduddin Khan and General Secretary Osman Ali signed the strike.

Their eight-point demands are:

1. In case of road accident, the case will be bailable.

2. Workers can not be fined Tk. 5 lakhs

3. Workers' representatives should be kept in the road accident investigation committee.

4. The educational qualification in the driving license will be in the fifth grade.

5. Withdrawal of Wescale (Truck Weight Scale) penalty will be canceled.

6. Police harassment will be stopped on the road.

7. During the registration of the vehicle, the appointment of the workers will be arranged for the attested signature of union president and general secretary concerned.

8. All the districts will have to issue a driver's license with extensive training and the issue of licenses will stop corruption and irregularities.

On the other hand, some organizations related to the Bangladesh Road Transport Sramik League, including several transport organizations, made the statement protesting the strike.

On the other hand, Road Transport and Stress Minister Obaidul Quader has requested the withdrawal of the strike. He said there is no scope to change the road transport law right now.
