Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the government is working to build a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh, more steps will be taken to improve the southern region.

The Prime Minister said this in the inaugural speech of several development projects on Saturday (October 27th) at one and a half. At this time, 20 development projects including 'dream address' were inaugurated by the Piara thermal power plant's rehabilitation project under Patuakhali.

Earlier, the Prime Minister left Dhaka for Patuakhali's pigeon peak from Tejgaon's old airport by helicopter. At 11 o'clock he reached Paarra. Assistant Engineer Safayet Rahman of Bangladesh China Power Company Limited, working in the project of pigeon, confirmed the arrival of the Prime Minister.

There, he inaugurated 20 new development projects in different areas of Patuakhali with the inauguration of a new residential 'dream address' for 130 families damaged in the construction of a thermal power plant.

The development projects include construction of five-storey girls hostel and education cum-test hall of Patuakhali Government College; construction work of four-storied education building at Haji Akkel Ali Howlader College, Ishaq Model Degree College, Quatakta Khanabad College, Muktijoddha Memorial College, Alhaj Jalal Uddin College, Subid Khali Degree College and Dummi Janata Degree College, Construction of four-storey educational building, 100% B of Dumki Upazila Yutayana, Mirzaganj 33/11 KV power stations, roads and Pairabond Services Pier Pairabond Sheikh Hasina, mosques, officers and staff dametari Guest House.

Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone for some development projects. They are: the foundation stone of the Rehabilitation of the affected people for the Panchtola Science Building of Patuakhali Government College, the 96 meter bridge in Srimanta River, Kalapara of Patuakhali district and the Farmers Training Center (third phase) under the project, two farmers training center and the pavement project.
